eVibe.com
Portsmouth, NH (June 2000 - March 2001)
Chief Financial Officer
(1 day/wk) - eVibe.com was a "dot com" start-up that developed and promoted an
Internet-based market system for booking live entertainment. The brainchild of
Zander Livingston and Brian Hanson, in mid-2000 eVibe had a well-developed web
site and software "back end", but lacked a complete business plan and adequate
funding to hire the sales and marketing team necessary to broadly role out the
service. In June of 2000, Clint Marshall was independently recommended to
Hanson by both a commercial banker and an investment banker as a resource who
could prepare the financial projections and help put together the business
plan, help present the Company to potential investors, and develop the
necessary financial and reporting systems for the fledgling Company.
Throughout the summer and fall of 2000, Marshall worked with eVibe to develop
the Company's business plan and supporting financial materials. The fall and
winter had him assisting in meetings with venture capitalists and other
potential investors. Unfortunately, a lack of available funding in the ongoing
“dot com shakeout” forced eVibe to curtail operations just as Marshall began
working to refine the Company's capital structure and stock incentive programs
and develop financial systems for the fast-changing Company.
"He was a great resource to have available," says Hanson. "Clint’s hands-on
financial knowledge, modeling skill, and critical eye for the business plan
made him a great help to me in a busy period. His flexible schedule and
willingness to accept a portion of his fee in equity made him affordable when
we didn’t have much cash to spend."
