Tom's of Maine
Kennebunk, ME (Jan - June 1998)
EDI Developer
(1/2 time) - After Clint Marshall resigned from Tom's of Maine at the start of
1998, the Company found itself unable to continue advancing their
implementation of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) for order entry and
billing. The Company immediately turned to Marshall as a consultant to
continue the software implementation. During his six month consultancy,
Marshall finalized the implementation guides for several new transaction sets,
including the 850 Purchase Order, 875 Grocery Products Purchase Order, and 210
Motor Carrier Freight Invoice, and raised participation levels to well over 50%
of all incoming orders and 75% of all incoming freight bills. Additionally,
before completing his assignment, he prepared the Company to implement version
4010 of the EDI standards, the first version of EDI to be fully year 2000
compatible. When Marshall left Tom's in mid-1998, he had built Tom's EDI
program into one of the strongest programs in the State of Maine.
